    ”एक राजनैतिक पार्टी है जिसके प्यारे से, बबुआ से, “बाबा” महिला सशक्तीकरण की बात को किसी मन्त्र की तरह जपते हैं। मगर बबुआ की पार्टी संसद मे 33% महिला आरक्षण बिल को 13 साल से दबाये बैठी है………रोना ये कि बाकी पार्टियां पास नही होने दे रहीं।जब रात कि पारी से अल्ल्सुबह काम कर के लौटती सौम्या विश्वनाथन को ए टी एम कार्ड छीनने के किये गोली मार दी जाती है तो इस पार्टी की वरिष्ठ मेम्बर,दिल्ली की तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री कहती हैं कि “she should not have been so adventurous”!
    एक राजनैतिक पार्टी के तो DNA में ही  महिला अधिकारों का विरोध मिला है।ये पार्टी भारतीय (read Hindu) संस्कृति की घनघोर पक्षधर है,खास कर उन पक्षों की जो औरतों को उनकी “हदें” बताने और उन हदों के भीतर वापस ढ़केलेने के बारे में है।ये पार्टी सत्ता मे आने पर आपको(औरतों को) संपन्न और सुरक्षित रखने का दावा ही नही ,वादा भी करती है………सोने के पिजरें में…………संम्पन्न और सुरक्षित। औरतों के pub मे जाने पर उन्हे पीटने वालों को यह पार्टी काफ़ी आकर्षित करती है,यह बात दीगर है की मौके की नज़ाकत को समझते हुए उन्हे टिकट देने के बाद जल्द ही वापस ले लिया जाता है!!
    एक राजनैतिक पार्टी है जिसके मुलायम हृदय “नेता जी” बलात्कारियों को “नन्हा मुन्ना बच्चा” समझते है और बलत्कार को एक भूल!!कन्या विद्या धन बाटने वाली इस पार्टी का कन्याओं से कहना है खूब पढ़ो,आगे बढ़ो मगर “at your own risk”।स्कूल आते जाते रास्ते मे अगर हमारे किसी बच्चे से भूल हो जायेगी तो हमसे झूठ-मूठ आकर शिकायत ना करना,हम तुमको ही सज़ा दिलवायेंगे।
    दो और राजनैतिक पार्टियां है जिनकी बागडोर दीदी जी और बहन जी ने संभाली हुई है।मगर उनके कार्यकाल में महिलाओं पर हिंसा का ग्राफ़ नीचे जाने के बजाय उपर ही गया! किसी बलत्कार पीड़िता को “वेश्या” बता दिया गया और किसी को “politically motivated”!!
    एक नयी नवेली “आधुनिक” पार्टी है जो एक तरफ़ तो एक rape survivor आदिवासी महिला को टिकट देती है तो दूसरी तरफ़ “खाप पंचायत” से हाथ भी मिलाती है!
    अब बोलो बिटिया? क्या करोगी? प्रगति के नाम पर किसे चुनोगी,कोई खतरों से खेलकर पढ़ने को कहेगा तो कोई प्रेम की क़ुर्बानी देने को।कोई मन-पसंद कपड़े पहनने पर भड़क जायेगा तो कोई मन-पसंद जीवन साथी चुनने पर!!क्या वोट देने से पहले तुम इन पार्टियों से पूछोगी कि हमारे ही होस्टल मे रात का कर्फ़्यू क्यूं होता है ? क्या हम इस देश के “स्वतन्त्र” नागरिक नहीं  हैं? लड़कों से हमें खतरा है तो रात का कर्फ़्यू लड़कों पर क्यूं नही लगाते? पर पढ़ाई-लिखाई,कैरियर,शौपिंग,पार्लर,FB and/or चूल्हा-बासन,पकाने-धोने,झाड़ू-बुहारु के बाद तुम्हारे पास समय कहां बचेगा सवाल पूछने का? फ़िर तुम तो अच्छी लड़की हो,नेतागीरी-politics से दूर रहती हो!! मगर समय मिला तो किसको वोट दोगी?  तौबा तौबा मैं भी ना, भूल ही गयी कि तुम तो “भैया” से पूछ कर वोट दोगी!!
    अम्मा, कारगिल मे जो मरे,जो हिन्दू थे और जो मुसलमान थे वो भी,और जो दोनो ही नही थे वो भी, भारत माता से पहले तुम्हारे बेटे थे! जो भारत-पाकिस्तान की सीमा पर लड़ते-मरते हिन्दुस्तानी और पाकिस्तानी हैं वो या तो तुम्हारे बेटे हैं या तुम्हारी बहन के। पर अम्मा क्या तुमको पता है है कि सीमा से ज़्यादा तुम्हारे और तुम्हारी बहनों के बेटे और बेटियां टी बी,जच्चगी और हैजा-दस्त से ,दोनो देशों के घरों और अस्पतालों मे मरते हैं? अम्मा क्या अबकी बार तुम वोट डालने से पहले यह पूछोगी की कौन सी पार्टी अपने बजट में कितना प्रतिशत पैसा स्वास्थ्य मे और कितना सेना में लगाने का इरादा रखती है? पर हाय अम्मा मै भी कैसा बेवकूफ़ी भरा सवाल पूछ बैठी!! तुम तो उसे ही वोट दोगी जिसे “वो”,अरे आपके “वो” वोट दे रहे होंगे!!
    बहन तुम्हारी स्थिति देखते हुए तो कोई सवाल पूछने का मुंह ही नही है मेरा।तुम पढ़ना चाहती थी,नौकरी करना चाहती थी मगर बाबू जी ने कन्या विद्या धन तो तुम्हारे ब्याह के नाम पर लगा दिया।तुम रोती गिड़-गिड़ाती रही कि तुम्हे ब्याह नही करना,आगे पढ़ना है मगर छोटी चार बहनों और दो भाईयों का हवाला देकर तुम्हे ब्याह दिया गया।तुम्हारी “किस्मत” अच्छी थी कि जीजा जी को “working wife” चाहिये थी,उन्होने तुम्हे ना सिर्फ़ पढ़ने दिया बल्कि नौकरी भी करने की “इजाज़त” दी। अब भले ही तुम दोहरे काम(work) के बोझ से मरी जाती हो मगर चार पैसे तो कमा रही हो!By working doubly you ensure a double income for your family. और भले ही स्कूल से लौटकर नाश्ता–खाना तुम ही पकाओगी (जब जीजा जी बाहर दोस्तों के साथ “intellectual debate”कर रहे होंगे) और वहां स्कूल के सत्तर बच्चों को पढ़ाने के बाद थकी-पकी ,घर आकर तुम ही अपने बच्चों को भी पढ़ाओगी (जब जीज़ा जी टी वी पर न्यूज़ देख़ रहे होंगे), पर सोंचो तुम्हारी किस्मत बगल वाली सपना बहन से तो अच्छी ही है ना!! कम से कम उसके आदमी की तरह जीजा जी तुम्हे मारते-पीटते तो नही। बस तुम्हारे बैंक अकाउंट पर नज़र ही तो रखते हैं तुम्हें कपड़े –खाने के लिये तरसा तो नही सकते। तुम अपनी अम्मा को बाबू जी के जाने के बाद अपने पास नही रख पायी तो क्या, जब तक अम्मा थी जीजा जी तुम्हे हर साल घर तो जाने की “इजाज़त” देते थे ना! तुम तो इतनी व्यस्त हो की शायद वोट डालने भी ना जा पाओ,मगर, अगर जीजा जी और सासू मां-ससुर जी ने “इजाज़त” दे दी तो किसको वोट दोगी?? क्या कहा?? जिसे ससुर जी वोट देंगे घर मे सभी उसे ही वोट देंगे?अच्छा चलो कोई बात नही, ससुर जी तो पढ़े लिखे आदमी हैं तुम उन्ही से पूछ लेना कि जिस पार्टी को वो वोट दे रहे हैं वो पतियों को “पितृत्व अवकाश” देने के बारे मे क्या राय रखती है,इस बारे मे कानून बनाने के बारे मे क्या विचार है उनकी प्रिय पार्टी का?  क्या हुआ?  ससुर जी भड़क गये? नाराज़ हो रहे थे कि, अब मर्द “काम” करेंगे कि घर बैठ के बच्चा खिलायेंगे?? Sorry, sorry बहन very sorry! इतनी बकवास सलाह देने के लिये माफ़ कर दो !! L
    Madam……madam…..yes,yes. I am talking to you Madam,…..sorry ,sorry Ms(Mizz).Yes Mizz I know you are the woman who thinks BEYOND being a woman. You have an identity of your own and don’t like being slotted as “बेटियों,बहनों,माताओं and बीवियों”.You have broken the glass ceiling with sheer determination. Your womanhood has not been able to limit you and now you are the boss and owner of an enterprise/ organization/industrial house where several hundred MEN and women work under you. You make sound decisions of your own volition. No one can fool you into voting a certain party. So? Whom are you going to vote? You must have found out the outlook of that party regarding all the women’s issues discussed above, haven’t you? Oh, so sorry, pardon me!! I forgot that you have reached BEYOND all this petty, woman-centric, feminist crap!! Besides you are a boss to several hundred MEN too and you have to think about them too. So surely you will vote for the party that keeps the workers’ rights on top of their agenda?? Shit! How can I be so naïve!! You are a strong woman, out in the big bad world of men, out there to beat the men at their own game….. AND so you will choose to play by the rules of “THE GAME”! That is no “workers of the world unite” kind of leftist, anti-development bullshit for you! So you will play safe, vote for development, vote for the party that ensures maximum profits and maximum subsidies to you with minimum “red tapism” ,minimum paper work and minimum legalities! In short a party that can ensure “हो जायेगी तेरी बल्ले-बल्ले” without any major obstacle! When you prosper, your company prospers, surely some of the prosperity is bound to trickle down to the workers and of course under the CSR you will be adopting villages and schools! How lovely!! You will vote for “developmentalism”!! I was needlessly getting bothered about all those “environmental impact”, “sustainable development” kind of worries. So sorry to have doubted you Mizz!
    बेटियों,बहनों,माताओं और Mizz जी लोग,अगर आप देश और दुनिया को अपने सपनों के अनुसार बनाना चाहती हैं तो सबसे पहले बाप-खाप,भैया-सैयां और सिर्फ़ रुप्पैया(or Dollar) की नज़र के बजाय “अपनी” नज़र से देश-दुनिया को और उसकी राजनीति को देखना शुरु करें,फ़िर दूसरे हाशिये पर रहने वाले समुदायों/समूहों के नज़रिये से देखने कि भी आदत डाले। उन सबके साथ साथ आपके लिये,देश के लिये कल्याण्कारी विकास का क्या “model” हो इसकी जड़ मे जायें और उस “model” को लाने के लिये कौन सी “राजनैतिक” पार्टी होगी वह ढ़ूंढें! ऐसी पार्टी हो सकता है आपको मिले ही ना,तो ऐसे मे खुद ही विकल्प खड़े करने के लिये एकजुट हो जायें………अब यह करने मे तो आपकी और हमारी उम्र ही गुज़र जायेगी………तो मैने कब कहा कि हम सिर्फ़ अपने लिये ये सवाल उठा रहे हैं? और आपसे किसने कहा कि इस चुनाव मे आपके वोट से किसी एक खास पार्टी या मसीहा के सत्ता मे आजाने से यह देश “हर किसी” के लिये सुरक्षित और संपन्न बन जायेगा? अरे बाबा,जब कुएं में ही भांग पड़ी हो तो सारा गांव सारा देश तो बौरायेगा ही। मगर मेरी बेटियों,बहनों,माताओं और Mizz जी लोग, इसका मतलब यह तो नही कि आप जान कर भी उसी कुएं का पानी पियें और बौरायें? क्यूं आप उसी कुएं की मेंढक हैं क्या??
    P.S :- 1) क्या आप अभी तक यह सोंच रही हैं कि यह लेख वाकयी “2014 के लोकसभा चुनावों में किसे वोट दें” की “गाइड” है ??!!!  J

  • Anti-war activist proudly pleads guilty to ‘disturbing’ U.S. war criminal General Petraeus

    Grand Rapids, MI – Anti-war activist Deb Van Poolen appeared in the 61st District Court here, April 15, with a group of supporters. Van Poolen pled guilty to the charge of creating a disturbance on Jan. 31 at the DeVos Place Convention Center.

    With great interest, Judge Kim Schaefer asked the defendant if she had created a disturbance that day. Van Poolen proudly said, “Yes, I stood up and spoke in front of several hundred people, and I said, ‘General David Petraeus you are a war criminal responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent men, women and children. I am a graduate of Calvin College and a follower of Jesus Christ and I am here to speak out.’”

    Judge Schaefer interrupted and asked what the effect was. Van Poolen responded, “Petraeus stopped speaking and then two men brought me outside.”

    Next Van Poolen’s lawyer David LeGrande spoke in her defense, saying, “It was an intentional act of civil disobedience. The tradition sees it as appropriate to break laws and deal with the consequences…to right injustice.” Defense attorney LeGrande continued, “She performed a public service by challenging militarism and the often unchallenged acts of aggression by the U.S. She is a full-time ideologue and I mean that in the best sense of the word. She has the support of local activists in court today and the support of communities in other parts of our country and the world.”

    Judge Schaefer, appreciating this exceptional plea in her court. asked if Van Poolen had any final comments.

    Van Poolen responded, “I was practicing free speech in a non-violent way. I did so with the sincere belief that, to call attention to the outrageous and immoral acts of U.S. leaders, civil disobedience is required. I hope my actions followed in the footsteps of other great and inspiring leaders.”

    Van Poolen is required to pay $160 in restitution as requested by the prosecution and about $300 in court costs and fees for a total near $460. She plans to enter a work program with other low-income women doing physical labor to pay off their debts to the justice system. Anti-war activists in Grand Rapids are also raising funds in solidarity with her bold action.
