24 unionists sacked by the Filipino subsidiary of the Dutch NXP Semiconductors have entered the 2nd month of their campaign for reinstatement, after they were fired for refusing to work on public holidays. Amid continued protests and organising in the Philippines, a second Global Day of Action has been planned for the 2nd of July in conjunction with unions around the world. Against global companies like NXP, only by organising globally will we be able to resist effectively the onslaught of these companies. The company is located in a Special Economic Zones where union activities are often curtailed.

Korean health workers protest against privatisation
The Korean Health and Medical Workers’ Union (KHMU) are holding a series of strikes and rallies from 24 to 30 June, to protest against the Korean government’s announcement to allow for deregulation and privatisation of the health services in the country. The president of the Korean Health and Medical Workers’ Union also staged a 10 day hunger strike, ending of the 20 June to galvanise opposition against the privatization of health care. There are also fierce struggles going on against the privatization of Korea’s railway system, including a 22-day strike in December 2013 and January 2014. -

Victory parade As is known, the steel workers of Wazirpur have been on strike since June 6, under the leadership of 'Garam Rolla Mazdoor Ekta Samiti'. Today, in the negotiation in Deputy Labour Commissioner's Office, the owners of all plants gave in to the demands of workers and accepted to implement the 8-hour workday, double rate overtime, minimum wages, ESI, PF for the workers of Wazirpur. It is a huge victory for the workers as it was not an informal negotiation for some wage increment; almost all the basic labour laws have been enforced in this negotiation.
Sunny, member, Garam Rolla Mazdoor Ekta Samiti, told that it is a huge step, but it is only a beginning. Now the new task is to enforce the implementation of today's agreement and not to allow any owner to flout these labour laws anymore. Raghuraj, member, Garam Rolla Mazdoor Ekta Samiti, said that the Deputy Labour Commissioner has assured that officials from the labour department will go on surprise inspections throughout the month to ensure the implementation of 8-hour workday and also will be present on the day of payment of wages to ensure that minimum wages are being given. Shivani, legal consultant of the Samiti and an activist of 'Bigul Mazdoor Dasta' said that in the context of hopelessness and reversal in the workers' movement, this victory holds immense importance. The labour laws had become a laughing stock among the owners and management. However, the steel workers of Wazirpur have shown that if we prevent agent unions of electoral parties, NGOs and funding agencies from entering in the workers' movement, the workers' themselves can lead their movement to victory, provided it is guided by correct political ideas. And 'Garam Rolla Mazdoor Ekta Samiti' has achieved precisely this objective. Navin, secretary, Delhi Kamgar Union argued that it was the resilience of the steel workers under a correct political leadership, that ultimately led to this historic victory. He said that the community kitchen run by the striking workers with the support from workers from different parts of the country showed that if workers' movement transcends the narrow boundaries of factory and occupation and a working class unity across the lines of occupation, region, etc is forged, the workers' struggles can definitely be won. गरम रोला मज़दूरों के आन्दोलन की ऐतिहासिक जीत
गरम रोला मज़दूरों के आन्दोलन की ऐतिहासिक जीतविजय जुलुस गौरतलब है कि पिछले 22 दिनों से दिल्ली के वजीरपुर इलाके के गर्म रोला मज़दूर अपनी संवैधानिक कानुनी मांगो को लागु करवाने के लिए हड़ताल पर थे। इस बीच मालिकों ने अलग अलग तरीके से हड़ताली मज़दूरों को तोड़ने की कोशिश की। मजदूर नेताओं को झूठे आरोपो में गिरफ्तार करवाने की कोशिशों से लेकर हड़ताल को लम्बा खीचकर मज़दूरों को भूख से तोड़ देने जैसे अनेक तरीके अपनाये। पर मज़दूरों द्वारा इसका संगठित प्रतिरोध, हड़ताल के दौरान सामुदायिक रसोई चलाना आदि ऐसे हथियार साबित हुए जिसके सामने मालिकों को झुकना पड़ा।
आज नीमड़ी कॉलोनी के श्रम विभाग में हुई वार्ता में सभी 23 कारखानों के मालिकों ने लिखित समझौते में सभी श्रम कानुन लागु करने स्वीकार किया। 8 घंटे का कार्यदिवस, ऑवरटाइम का दुगुनी दर से भुगतान, ईएसआई, पीएफ की सुविधा जैसे सभी कानुनों के ऊपर उन्होने लिखित हामी भरी। यह अपने आप में एक बड़ी जीत है क्योंकि ये सिर्फ वेतन वृद्धि का समझौता नहीं बल्कि सभी श्रम कानुनों को लागु करने का समझौता है।गरम रोला मज़दूर एकता समिति के सनी ने कहा कि यह एक बड़ी जीत है पर अभी यह एक शुरूआत है। इस समझौते को लागु करवाना भी हमारे लिए एक बड़ी लड़ाई होगी। हमें कोशिश करनी होगी कि कोई भी मालिक इन श्रम कानुनों का उल्लंघन ना कर पाये।गरम रोला मज़दूर एकता समिति के ही रघुराज ने बताया कि उप श्रमायुक्त ने वायदा किया है कि वो सभी कारखानों का आकस्मिक दौरा करेंगे व वेतन वितरण के दिन कारखाने में अपने किसी अधिकारी को भेजेंगे ताकि जितने वेतन का वादा किया गया है वो सभी मज़दूरों को मिल सके। समिति की कानुनी सलाहकार व बिगुल मज़दूर दस्ता की कार्यकर्ता शिवानी ने कहा कि मज़दूर आन्दोलनों के लिए विपर्यय व निराशा के इस दौर में यह जीत बहुत मायने रखती है। मालिकों व प्रबन्धन के लिए श्रम कानुन अब एक मजाक बनकर रह गये हैं पर गरम रोला के मज़दूरों ने दिखा दिया है कि अगर हम चुनावबाज राजनीतिक पार्टियों, एनजीओं, फण्डिग एजेंसियों की युनियनों को मज़दूर आन्दोलनों में घुसपैठ से रोक सकें तो मज़दूर अपने आन्दोलन को खुद नेतृत्व दे सकते हैं बशर्ते कि वो एक सही राजनीति लाइन के मातहत हों। गरम रोला मज़दूरों ने यह करके दिखाया है।दिल्ली मज़दूर यूनियन के सचिव नवीन ने कहा कि मज़दूरों की इसी जुझारू एकजुटता ने एक सही राजनीतिक लाइन के मातहत ये सम्भव कर दिखाया है। उन्होने ये भी कहा कि पूरे देशभर के इंसाफपसन्द नागरिकों, आसपास के मज़दूरों आदि के सहयोग से चलाई जा रही सामुदायिक रसोई ने ये दिखला दिया कि अगर हम फैक्टरी, पेशे आदि की संकीर्ण दीवारों को तोड़कर वर्गीय आधार पर एकजुट हो जायेंगे तो मज़दूर संघर्ष जीते जा सकते हैं। गरम रोला मज़दूरों ने हमें यह राह दिखाई और अब बाकी मज़दूरों को भी इस राह पर चलना चाहिए।इंकलाबी अभिवादन के साथरघुराज, सनी (सदस्य, नेतृत्वकारी समिति, गरम रोला मज़दूर एकता समिति)शिवानी (कानूनी सलाहकार, गरम रोला मज़दूर एकता समिति)रघुराज – 9211532753, सनी – 9873358124विजय जुलुस की कुछ तस्वीरें व वीडियो -
मिंडा फ़रूकवा इलेक्ट्रिक कम्पनी में मज़दूरों का जुझारू संघर्ष
पूरे बावल क्षेत्र में पिछले 2 माह से अलग-अलग फ़ैक्टरियों के मज़दूर यूनियन बनाने की मांग को लेकर संघर्ष कर रहे है चाहे वे एहरेस्टी के मज़दूरों हो या पास्को के। इसलिए ये बात साफ़ है कि आज पूरे गुड़गांव-मानेसर-धारुहेड़ा-बावल में मज़दूरों की कुछ साझा मांग बनाती है जैसे यूनियन बनाने की मांग, ठेका प्रथा खत्म करने की मांग या जबरन ओवरटाईम खत्म करने की मांग। ये सभी हमारी साझा मांगें है इसलिए इनके खिलाफ़ भी हमें साझा संघर्ष करना होगा क्योंकि हम सभी मज़दूर जानते है मालिकों-सरकार-पुलिस-प्रशासन गठजोड़ एकजुट होकर मज़दूरों के खिलाफ़ है और इनके खिलाफ़ सिर्फ़ एक फ़ैक्टरी के आधार पर नहीं जीता जा सकता है बल्कि पूरे आटो सेक्टर या पूरे इलाके के मज़दूरों की फ़ौलादी एकता कायम करके ही मज़दूर विरोधी ताकतों को मुंहतोड़ जबाव दिया जा सकता है। इसलिए हमें अपने फ़ैक्टरी संघर्ष के साथ ही पूरे आटो सेक्टर के मज़दूरों की एकता कायम करने की लम्बी लड़ाई में जुटाना होगा।

2,000 SEIU Johns Hopkins Hospital Workers To Strike Friday

A four-day strike at Johns Hopkins Hospital is set to start Friday now that labor contract negotiations have broken down. 1199 SEIU represents 2,000 Johns Hopkins service workers. The union wants at least $15 an hour for workers with at least 15 years experience. Right now the workers start at wages from $10.71 to $27.88 an hour depending on the job. SEIU says hospital management, which paid the Johns Hopkins CEO $15.4 million in 2013 and the top ten executives a combined $26 million can easily afford to pay workers at least $15 an hour. The union says wages are so low for the service workers at Johns Hopkins Hospital that some rely on food stamps and other assistance to get by.

Indian steel workers battling hunger amid ongoing strike
It is now two weeks that thousands of steel workers of the Wazipur industrial zone near New Delhi have been on strike for better pay and conditions. After attempting to break the spirit of the workers through intimidation, the companies are now resorting to the tried and tested method of starving the workers back to work. The workers are holding strong but have launched an appeal for money and food so that they can continue their strike. -

आज दिनांक 20 जून 2014 को, गरम रोला मजदूर एकता समिति के नेतृत्व में जारी हड़ताल के 15वें दिन करीब 3 हज़ार मजदूरों ने श्रीराम चौक पर सुबह 9 बजे इकट्ठा होकर पूरे वजीरपुर औद्योगिक क्षेत्र में रैली निकाल कर अपनी एकजुटता और जुझारूपन का परिचय दिया| रैली में लगभग 3000 मज़दूरों ने भाग लिया| इनमें गरम रोला एवं ठंडा रोला में काम करने वाले मज़दूर, तपाई का काम करने वाले मज़दूर और तेजाब का काम करने वाले सभी मज़दूर शामिल थे| इसके बाद, प्रत्येक दिन की भांति सभी मजदूर वजीरपुर के राजा पार्क में आगे की सभा चलाने के लिए एकत्रित हुए जहाँ हड़ताल में शामिल सभी मज़दूरों ने अपने संघर्ष को आगे बढ़ाने का दृढ़ निश्चय लिया|रैली का वीडियो
